DIEGO ORTEGA & ALDANA SILVEYRA
Tango dancers and teachers with more than 15 years of professional experience, travel the world giving classes and shows in the most renowned theaters and festivals in the world. Currently 2025 Winners in the World Tango Championship in the Salon Tango category.
They were part of the cast of the renowned “Forever Tango Company” of Luis Bravo for more than 12 years, with which they have traveled much of the world and have performed in the most important theaters in the world, countries such as the United States, China, Mexico, Canada, Greece, Turkey, Poland, Portugal, Spain and much of Latin and Central America. Such is the case of the Walter Keer Theater on Broadway where they were in the 2013 season together with Ukrainian and Latin American artists, such as Karina Smirnoff, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Luis Enrique and Luis Fonsi.
Diego from Colon and Aldana from Monte Grande, both from the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, have started their careers at a young age (11 and 9 years respectively) performing in under 18 youth competitions in the province of Buenos Aires and both winning with their current partners.
Then each one built his own path. Diego, on the one hand, began dancing tango at the School of Culture and Fine Arts in his neighborhood, representing his hometown he won the Buenos Aires Youth Tournaments at the age of 15, in addition to participating and winning tango competitions throughout the Northern Zone. His first tour was at the age of 15 to Chile with the Colon Tango Ballet, touring much of the country and performing on different stages. Then came performances in Uruguay and the Tango festivals held in the provinces of Argentina.
At the age of 18 he traveled to Japan with the purpose of teaching in one of the first Tango studios in Japan. He successfully stayed for almost 4 years, and in 2010 he returned to Argentina and became World Champion of Stage Tango. He was invited to the program “Tetsuko no heya” and was defined as “the most popular and admired woman in Japan”, and ended his return with the tour “Min-on Concert” throughout the country.
And Aldana, on the other hand, began dancing in the municipality of his city, participated in the ballet of the same city with which he had performances in different stages and the most recognized milongas of the South Zone of Buenos Aires, participated in dance competitions as well as in important television programs. He was the Gold Medalist in the Youth Tournaments of Buenos Aires in 2005, and winner of the tango contest held in 2005 on the program of the most popular host of Argentine television, Marcelo Tinelli. Then, at the age of 18, she was a finalist in the World Tango Championship in Buenos Aires in the categories of Salon and Stage Tango, and in the Metropolitan Championship of the city in the categories of Tango, Waltz and Milonga.
In 2011 they joined forces to dance together. And in 2012 they achieved third place in the World Championship of Salon Tango held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
They have given exhibitions in the mythical milongas of Buenos Aires; Salón Canning, Sunderland, Sin Rumbo, La Baldosa, Villa Malcom, Porteño y bailarín, La Viruta and Milonga Malena in the Marabú salon are among her favorites.
Currently touring the world giving workshops and exhibitions in the most recognized milongas and festivals in the world, such as TangoToistanbul, TangoToRome, Bratislava Tango Festival, TangofiPorto, Recuerdo Tango Festival in Warsaw, Festivalito Primavera in Zurich, Embrace Tango Festival in Berlin; and the most recognized festivals in Argentine “Mucho Tango Festival”, “Argentina Tango Salon Festival” and “Tango Salta Fest “.
Currently based in Tokyo, Japan with their own Argentine Tango studio for 4 years, belonging to the Tango community in Japan and contributing to the dissemination of our Argentine culture in the World.
