VAGGELIS HATZOPOULOS & MARIANNA KOUTANDOU

Dancers of Tango Argentino since 2004, and couple in tango and life since 2009.

They have their own tango school, the “Academia del Tango” in Athens, Greece since September 2011. They were awarded European Champions in the category of Tango Salon in 2013, having already conquered 2nd place in Europe in 2012 and 1st place in Greece in 2011 at the same category. After that, they are finalists of the Mundial de Tango several years.

CThey have been part of the tango company of Natalia Hills “Tangueros del Sur” and the greek tango company “Tango en Eros” dancing at the most important theatres of Greece.

They are often invited worldwide to give seminars and shows at various events, milongas and festivals (such as TanGo to Istanbul Festival, Tango Follies Festival, Tango Emotion Festival, Oktober Pest Tango Festival, AniverTango Festival, Taipei Tango Festival, Auroville Holi Tango Festival, Cyprus Tango Festival, Tango Lovers Festival, Unchained Tango Festival, Todos Tango Festival, Syros Tango Festival, Kalamata Tango Festival and others) all around the world, such as Argentina, India, Taiwan, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus and others.

They are known for their clarity and insight in the technical aspects of Tango, as well as for the sensibility they bring out as a couple and for the positive energy they pass on, in their shows and classes.

Their main maestros are Silvio La Via and Leandro Oliver Laila Rezk, while they have attended classes from Sebastian Arce Marianna Montes, Gabriel Misse, Natalia Hills Alejandro Aquino, Julio Balmaceda Corina De La Rosa, Gabriel Angio Natalia Gamez, Sebastian Jimenez Maria Ines Bogado, Sebastian Achaval Roxanna Suarez, Daniel Nacucchio Cristina Sosa and many others.

DIONISIS THEODOROPOULOS & CHLOE THEODOROPOULOU

Dionisis began his professional career in tango in 2008. He is the winner of the Tango Acropolis competition (2011) in the category Stage Tango and he has performed in some of Buenos Aires’ most important milongas, such as Salon Canning, Milonga Milonguita and Villa Malcolm.

On the other hand, Chloe, having completed studies in classical ballet and contemporary dance, built a career in contemporary and neoclassical dance, receiving recognition and participating in important collaborations/ projects in Greece and abroad. Tango came into her life first as a “hobby” in 2008.

Dionisis and Chloe crossed paths in October 2011 and decided to work together.  Some of their career’s highlights include becoming the Champions of Greece in Stage Tango (Tango Escenario) in the Tango Acropolis Competition 2012 and being members of Gustavo Russo’s famous Argentinian company “Tango Seduccion”, with which they have toured Europe and abroad.

From the beginning of their collaboration until today they travel regularly in Greece and abroad , teaching and performing. They have presented their work in Greece, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Monaco, Cyprus, Lebanon , Israel and more as well as in the U.S.A. and have participated in multiple renowned tango Festivals.

Their base is in Athens, GR and, more specifically, in Tangopolis, their own tango studio which was inaugurated in 2019 and their home, where they also have the very demanding role of being parents to 3 lovely boys.

They are a couple who combines harmonically a vast performing experience with a profound knowledge of the social side of tango. Their dance is characterized by technical integrity, accuracy , elegance and authenticity. They love to go beyond limits, experimenting with movement and music, creating intense and dramatic elements, but always maintaining the idea of communication and dialogue in their dance.

GABRIEL MARINO & VASIA THANOPOULOU

Gabriel Marino came to Greece from his homeland, Argentina, in 2008, bringing with him extensive experience in Argentine tango. In 2011, he was crowned European Champion at the European Championship (Turin, Italy), representing Greece. He had the honor of dancing in some of the world’s most prestigious theaters, such as the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires (2002 & 2004), the Palais de Versailles (with Tangokinesis), and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens. He was a member of the Compañía Tango-Malambo. In 2012, he founded El Abrazo, with the idea of creating a space dedicated to authentic tango — as it is danced and taught in Argentina.

Vasia Thanopoulou began studying tango in 2009. She has been teaching since 2012 and has presented her work throughout Greece, as well as at the Zotto Academy in Milan. She has also participated in the theatrical production Tango Brujo with Sebastián Missé and Andrea Reyero. In 2016, Gabriel and Vasia made their first appearance as a dance couple at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, performing with Mora Godoy. In 2017, they joined the company Tangueros del Sur, performing the show Romper el Piso at the same theater under the direction of Natalia Hills. In 2018, now as members of the company, they traveled to Buenos Aires to perform in various milongas as invited artists. That same year, they once again had the honor of dancing at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus with Tangueros del Sur, alongside the legendary Amelita Baltar, in the world’s first choreographed tango opera, María de Buenos Aires. The Greek national television channel ERT has featured them twice in special programs and interviews dedicated to their work with tango in Greece.

ALEJANDRO LARENAS & MARISOL MORALES

Alejandro Larenas & Marisol Morales


Exploring was a mission, understanding a need and learning a desire.


Their studies have always been motivated by curiosity to understand tango evolution from its roots.


Their dancing ranges from pure tradition to mind blowing innovation. Rich in musicality, spotless technique and a very skillful and precise teaching method to explain this popular dance. When it comes to dancing it is all about improvisation! 


During the pandemic, they held online seminars that helped people understand tango as a dancing culture. They shared all their personal search at the social, expressive level, tango music curiosities and analysis of the dance and its structure. Once more they proven that a problem can be transformed into an opportunity. This drastic experience that we all lived in those 2 years gives us the chance to help students go deep in tango.

Marisol participated in the Diplomatura of the Instituto Argentino de Tango 2021, where she did an intervention to present her research about tango dance development in the golden age.


Alejandro & Marisol started dancing tango in 1998, in 2004 they had crossed their path and they became a professional couple.


Since then they have been teaching and performing to renowned places in Buenos Aires such as Club Gricel, La Ideal, Cochabamba 444, La Viruta Tango, Salon Canning, Practica X, El Motivo Tango, Viva la Pepa Milonga, at the show "Tango new Generation "held under the CITA International Tango Festival (2006, 2007) and Misterio Tango Festival Argentina (2017).


They have made more than 35 tango tours all around the world to participate in Seminars, Shows and Tango Festivals, including highlights: Montreal Tango Festival (2006 - 2009), The International Festival of Rimini (2009), 13 Hamburg Tango Festival (2010), 14 Anniversary Universo Tango (2011), San Remo Tango Festival (2010), TangOtoño Innsbruck (2010), Tangoconsharm, Egypt (2010), The Smith Tango Festival in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. In 2011 they started collaborating at a tango school in Athens, Tangart. Since 2019 they are part of the direction of this school.

GIORGOS LINARDATOS & OLGA KATSARA

Giorgos Linardatos is a teacher and Argentine tango dancer with more than 15 years of active presence in the field. Co-founder of the El Conventillo school in the heart of Patras, he has participated in dozens of performances and shows across Greece, as well as in some of the most important international festivals, consistently conveying the aesthetics, technique, and philosophy of authentic Argentine tango with dedication and passion.


Olga Katsara, having grown up within the environment of the school, developed from an early age a deep connection and devotion to tango. With an active presence in performances and competitions, she has already built a dynamic path in the scene. In 2025, she won 1st place in the Tango de Pista category at the 1st Greek Tango Championship, 2nd place in the same category at Tango Acropolis, while one of the most distinguished highlights of her career to date is her 1st place in the Solo Milongueros category at Metropolitano Tango Europe.


Together, they share the same vision for the growth and dissemination of Argentine tango, combining experience, technical excellence, and authentic artistic expression.
